The teachings of the Tradition rest on three practices: the analysis of designs, the performance of ritual, and the search for self-knowledge. The Tradition understands that while icons symbolize an alternative order of fact, they cannot constitute that different reality. This enables practitioners to be interested in and start to numerous representations from many different sources. Our comprehension of that various the truth is increased through meditation on and examine of symbols.
The next training, practice, is employed in all arranged religions and indigenous religious systems. It takes specific skills to do practice correctly; when these abilities are learned and deepened through typical practice, ritual can cause a bridge between different levels of consciousness: mind and superconsciousness, mankind and Heavenly, physical and spiritual.
The 3rd practice is self-knowledge. Self-knowledge, accomplished by constantly asking what we think we realize, shows people to separate who and what we actually are from the fake identities that people build all through our lives.
These three techniques improve each other even as we use them. By way of a greater understanding of representations, our routine training is increased; through better ritual, our self-knowledge is deepened; through deeper self-knowledge, we obtain a subtler gratitude of symbols; and so on. This generates a synergy that alters our connection with being human and, eventually, leads us to the ultimate prize: the perception of our personal Divinity. That awakening is referred to in the Western Puzzle Tradition as “Initiation.”
